Glossary of Skill Levels

Pre-beginner - Need to learn how to use a sewing machine or brush up on your skills.

Beginner - You have sewn before, know your machine, but want to start quilting.

Confident (Confident Beginner) - You already know your sewing machine, can thread it, stitch a straight seam, and have some rotary cutting skills.

Intermediate - You have not only knowledge of the basics of quilting, but have pieced quilts.

Ages 6+ - This class is for elementary school aged children, at least six years old.

A "+" indicates the class is also appropriate for more advanced students.

** For Printing Your Own Fabric, students should be generally familiar with using computers, and will get more from the class if they are already comfortable with some form of computer photo editor.

Colorwash Rail Fence, Susan Raban

An old favorite done as a colorwash using soft pastels or florals. Goes up quickly. See two samples in the shop, this one in blue, and another done in pinks.

Three sessions, Wednesday, 6:00-8:30, March 14, 21, and 28. $45.00

Tic Tac Toe, Rhonda Galpern

This class for elementary school kids age 6 and up and each class is followed by a pizza dinner.

Three session, Friday, 4:30-6:00, March 16, 23, and 30. $45.00

New England Scenes (Block of the Month), Sharon Bogin

Sharon will be teaching the techniques needed for the five New England Scenes in the current Mill Girl Quilts Block of the Month program. Do the five month series, or just the ones you want. Great gift for those no longer in New England. Will hanging kits are $29.00.

Petal Work Iris, Hsiu Northcott

This is the Petal Play pattern form Joah Shay. Using her 3-D Appli-bond technique, you can make an easy, fun, and beautiful wall hanging. Minimal sewing required if you use pre-quilted background fabric or quilt your own before class for a truly unique background.
